what is nursing

51ÉçÇø Nursing Program prepares students to fill a critical role in the health care industry with a career as a professional registered nurse (RN). Due to new trends in health care, nursing is seen as the greatest untapped resource in our nation as we strive for quality health care. A career in Nursing offers vast opportunities. Graduates are eligible to apply for the NCLEX RN exam. The Associate Degree Nursing Program can be completed in 2 years.

51ÉçÇø (51ÉçÇø) Practical Nursing program will host a site visit for its initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), March 24–26, 2026.

The public is invited to meet with the site visit team and share comments about the program. The meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in the Appalachian Center and Conference Room located at 700 51ÉçÇø Road, Cumberland, KY.
